Throughout the placement, you will be delivering a series of software functionalities such as desktop applications, web applications, mobile apps, dashboards or REST API's aimed at enhancing the capabilities of existing products, with the scope to help define the technical solution, under guidance from your colleagues.
This is a hands on role, gaining exposure to all elements of the agile software and product development lifecycle, adopting the latest industry standard tools and technologies stacks.

The role will be based in Curacao. with some level of working from home negotiable. International students can participate in the internship program by following an adapted process that includes remote interviews, visa arrangements, and potential remote work opportunities. We are hoping to achieve a diverse and enriching internship experience for students from various backgrounds.
Key Accountabilities:
✓ Deliver agreed work packages on time and to the agreed quality/standards.
✓ Coordinate and deliver in cooperation with other project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
✓ Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field.
✓ Experience in one area of computer science/software development.
✓ Experience with C# or Java or javascript programming languages.
✓ Ability to communicate in Dutch or English fluently. Papiamentu is a pre.
Skills:
✓ Analyze the scope and requirements.
✓ Interpret and/or contribute to requirements and specifications.
✓ Create concept designs
✓ Work with other engineers to design, develop, test, and debug systems.
✓ Documentation skills to be able to articulate and record design decisions and technical aspects of the work packages developed.
Essential Knowledge:
✓ C# or Java programming languages.
✓ SQL Database language.
✓ Data modeling techniques for SQL databases.
✓ Technical documentation.
✓ Basic understanding of testing and debugging. MS Visual Studio is preferred.
Competencies:

✓ Capable of driving ideas/projects forward.
✓ Able to work effectively to meet agreed timescales having considered and planned the project activities.
